Latest company blog about Why More E-Bike & E-Tricycle Users Are Switching from Lead-Acid to Lithium Batteries in 2026

In recent years, upgrading from traditional lead-acid batteries to modern lithium batteries has become a major trend for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers worldwide. Although lead-acid batteries are cheap upfront, their heavy weight, short service life, slow charging speed, and poor durability create high long-term operating costs for daily riders and delivery fleets.

Lithium LiFePO4 battery packs offer a perfect replacement solution. Compared with lead-acid versions, lithium batteries are 60% lighter, support faster charging, and deliver far more stable voltage output during riding. For electric bikes used for commuting, food delivery, and heavy-load cargo tricycles, lithium power significantly improves riding smoothness and climbing performance.

Another key advantage is cycle life. Standard lead-acid batteries only last 300–400 cycles, while LiFePO4 lithium batteries reach over 1800 cycles. This means fleet owners only need to replace batteries once every 3–5 years instead of multiple times per year, greatly cutting maintenance and replacement expenses.

For global e-mobility users, switching from lead-acid to lithium batteries is no longer an option — it is a cost-effective and high-performance upgrade for long-term daily operation.
